Mirror Mirror on the Wall

"Mirror mirror ont he wall...
Who's the fairest of them all...??"

It is said that friends and family are the true mirror in which you should see your self in. But what if, that mirror was foggy or needed a new prescription. What if, and this maybe an old concept, but what if beauty really was in the eye of the beholder?

There's an old arabic proverb that translates into this: The monkey is a gazelle in his mother's eyes. The whole meaning of it is not to confuse people of two completely different species but its to explain one perception that I believe to be true: LOVE MAKES US BLIND.

In LOVE he is beautiful, in love you are too.
In HATE she is ugly, in hate you smell too.

I may not be a mother and know how it feels to look at the ugliest thing that can ever come out of the womb and call it beautiful, but i do believe that love makes a person more beautiful. Think of the evolution of friendship between you and another friend: she maybe ugly at first but because you love her more and more, she is beautiful. It goes the other way around too. He may be the most gorgeous man you have ever set your eyes on, but because he is an a**, he looks uglier and uglier.

Beauty isn't really in the eye of the beholder, beauty is in the relationship.

P P POKER FACE

Angels and demons, devils, clowns, doctors and nurses, gypsies and super men, school girls and teachers, cave man and lady gaga, honey and the bee thats you for me are all people in disguise on one occasion. But what if, every day we meet people in disguise, greet people in disguise, and love people in disguise?!

This life is like a masquerade: we all wear masks that we think are essential for survival. Put your poker face on and play the game thats how it goes. Is it really necessary? Or do you think we're just abusing the power of a deceiving mask?

If everyone wears a mask or walks around in disguise, which face reveals the real you? How do you know what is or what isn't any more? We'll probably end up in a circus of a world where nothing is what it seems. Even though, I like you, would like to run away and join the circus, living in a circus is completely different.

So wear your masks and I'll wear mine, tell your lies and I'll tell mine. We are only fooling ourselves in the end!

Ice Queen

After many years of experiences, watching experiences, and hearing about experiences between boy and girl I have come to this conclusion: There is NO conclusion.

So, here's the deal: after every heart break and tear shed, one makes a promise to oneself not to be heart broken again. One most common promises is NEVER AGAIN. But that also is the NEVER keep this promise promise. However, some might just stand out no matter how senseless they are!

Here's a new promise:
I am Ice Queen, never to feel again. My senses are numb, my soul is cold.. and my heart is simply frozen. There's an already made anthem for this promise: icebox. Just like the words say: "I got this ice box where my heart used to be"
This is an attempted solution to numb oneself from feeling pain, disappointment and rejection. Didn't they invent freezing bodies to keep them alive.

Of course, Like the freezing people method, it is not applicable, it does not work, but it feels a hell lot of good. I LOVE ICE CREAM.

Find Me!

Look for me in the middle of the crowd... on the side table...
Look for me walking alone in the park...
Look for me...

Found me yet?

The term "find" is misused in one obvious way: you've found me when no one else was looking. I know it can be used correctly if we're speaking literary, but when we're not, do you really "find" that special someone or be "found"?

If thats the case, how many people are you supposed to meet and pass by on the street through life until you have truly find that "special" person? Or in some cases, be discovered by the looker? are we supposed to be the founder or the foundee?

There are many misconceptions around how people find their other halves, and when they do, they have probably found or passed by other "halves" but then they end up with that ONE. Is it pure random or intentional? What makes this girl better than the first or this guy better than the next?

Look hard people or look not, be blind if you want to... In the end its all about the timing: being at the right time, in the right place, and with the right person.

Great Expectations !

Its amazing how some people have very high expectations of what they can achieve or accomplish in life. To some, it is healthy and it is the way to go in order to accomplish your goals. But to others, it is pure misery.

To be able to live up to your own expectations is one thing, but to live up to others is completely suppressing. I myself am calling it EXPECTATION PHOBIA. Expectation phobia is best defined as the fear of one's expectations because of the possibility of failure.

"Aim high", "Reach for the starts", are all common "push it to the limit" sayings that one may hear often when aiming for a certain goal. But what if, his hand is too short, or his leg was broken, or, god forbid, kryptonite was around.

Even though a lot may disagree, a lot may believe in "the secret", and a lot think that if you set your mind to do something, you'd do it, but, for the sake of your own health and mine, step it down a notch.

If there were no expectations, there'd be no disappointments!!!

True Colors

"I see your true colors... thats why I love you".

It is funny how colors have meanings in feelings. The grass is greener, green of jealous, red of love, yellow of friendship, blue of sad, grey of dull, white of pure... etc. But if these were the colors you see the people with then do you see the colors through your eyes or are you really seeing what they're wearing?

Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, this can hold the same meaning. if you wear red glasses you'll see the world as red. Catch my drift? So is it what you see or what is shown?

Lets assume that we don't wear glasses that color the world red, and that we see people for the true "colors" that they are. Do you think we'll pick our favorite colors and love them or is it like a rainbow thing? Let's face it, we as humans are very selective. and the fact that we are somewhat perceptive to good and bad at the same time, we think we are accepting beings. But the truth of the matter is, we're not.

4.23.2010

It's not me, It's you!

I think we have always been there, the very very bad place in the corner of a crowded room with the words "it's not you, its me" barfed out of someone's mouth. These words usually come as comforting explanations in order not to make the person they are ditching feel bad. Bottom line is, its a lie! It may be a "white lie" as some would call it, but, a lie is a lie even if you paint it red.

Even though it may actually work and make a person feel somewhat better, I just want to clarify that when that phrase is said, it only means the exact opposite: IT'S NOT ME, IT's YOU! To make things clearer, it is YOU that is not functioning properly or meshing with ME.

But why do you think people use it as often as they do? When the whole world knows that it doesn't mean what it means and that it means what it doesn't, do they still feel better hearing those words? Have we really become so emotionally gullible that we need to feed on any lies said to make us feel better, even if we don't believe it?

Of course, a nice gesture is a nice gesture, but when that gesture sends the person to the wrong room it just does all the wrong damage. Metaphorically speaking: a person diagnosed with the wrong disease, gets treated for something else, and ills at the other.

As a person that doesn't believe in complete and utter blunt honesty, and as a person that doesn't believe in false compliments, take this as a piece of advice: say the truth, or don't say it at all, and when you do say the truth, tell it like it is:

IT'S NOT ME, IT'S YOU !!!

Distorted Perfection

It is a common thought that one is one's best critic, but it is in my personal opinion, that this thought is wrong almost 90 percent of the time.

If a person is given the gift of thought and sight, "a good eye for detail", that person may just be a good candidate to be his or her own critic. But what happens when he or she is blinded to their own faults, or worse, see too much?

Its funny how the answer to almost all questions in this universe is answered by two extremes! Everything is either Black or white, good or bad, or in this case, insightful or blind! There are only very few people that are "grey" in this world.

Here are the two best examples:

(Looking at the mirror)
GIRL WHO SEES TOO MUCH
OH dear, I need to lose 10 pounds, get botox, peel this tuck that, scrub this, lipo that, wax this, color that.. etc
GIRL WHO SEES NOTHING
Ouh i look FINE. This looks good. hmm.. Maybe a new haircut.

(Going out)
GIRL WHO SEES TOO MUCH
Oh my. I should have worn my other sandals, these make my feet look big. (fidget fidget fidget).. oh my GOD my HAIR and rain don't mesh. Hey, can you see my panties in this?

GIRL WHO SEES NOTHING
The weather is nice. Oh look at them pretty boys looking at me. i must look pretty gooooood..

(In relationships)
GIRL WHO SEES TOO MUCH
He thinks I'm fat. I'm sure he thinks I'm FAT.
He left because I'm FAT. I'm so UGLY.
No one will every love me because I'm FAT and UGLY!!

GIRL WHO SEES NOTHING
Honey get me a bucket of KFC on your way home.
THAT BASTARD wont find anyone like me.
I need to go out tonight and flirt with a sexy man.

Both oppose each other completely. Who has it right though? Could a person really be too harsh with one self or too mellow? If art needs critics, food needs critics, articles, books, everything needs critics, then why aren't humans good at it? If some are too harsh and unreasonable, I am sure that Leonardo Davinci pushed himself hard to make the Mona Lisa as perfect as he can. Even though it is just a painting, it resembles him!

In the fast world of today, we are given only one chance and written off an judged based upon, mostly, looks. Then, there is no shame in perfecting that "image" that is taken at a first glance. Set aside extreme perfection, I believe that a person should be able to be given the freedom, of at least though, of wanting to be perfect.

Even though some people do go to unbelievable extremes that result in just making matters worse, i believe that one's own critic is a critic that should be pleased within reason. The trick is not to go by the rules of the universe on what a person should like, but, to go by pleasing yourself.

I want to look good so that i think that i look good!

Let's Play

There are millions of different games played out on this planet. Monopoly, Dominos, Poker, Solitaire, Spiderweb, Twister, Hide & Seek, Tag... etc. and we all almost know how to play it all. But what really defines the rules of the game? or better yet, What is the game that the rules define?

It has been a common metaphor to call how people interact as "games", BUT have you ever seen the manual or the guidelines? Where does the book of rules go to when you really need it?

I have always been on a "lucky streak". It is what happens when pure luck combines with a small understanding of the game where you win not because of your pure wit, but because karma has decided it you need it. But in real life, that beginner's luck is just pure misery. What happens when you want to move on and advance to the next level?

Evidently, people get different manuals to different games, problems is, how do you know who's playing what? It can be very chaotic playing with a different set of rules in the wrong game, especially when that game happens to be life where the stakes are higher.

Games has also been associated with bets and stakes, where the winner takes all and the loser goes home. If this is life we're playing, is it ever safe to play? If you're a gambler, that game can be the right adrenaline rush needed to experience life on the dangerous side, but, do you really want to risk it all? The problem is, in life, almost everyone is addicted to gambling and everyone is putting all bets on the table.

Some get good at it, some play for fun, some play for keeps, some are just lucky, and some just aren't. For those who are good at it, how well does that poker face go? Could it be so good that even they believe it or is it simply resembling what it usually does: an undefined facial expression that pretends to be what it isn't but only they know the truth behind the deal?

When you win, you win it all, but when you lose, you lose it ALL.

Picture Perfect

In the old days, Ads used to be painted not photographed, Vogue covers were painted for years on since it started. However, today it seems that we are falling under more and more pressure of having the perfect look for the perfect pictures.

Looking good has evolved from being genetically blessed with a photogenic face to having a good photo editing program. I being a big supporter of photoshop, without sounding too hypocritical, believe that that picture perfect profile pic has become more of an obsession for this digital generation.

Don't get me wrong, I love me that picture that hides all the flaws and flaunts all the goods, but to an extent, its like hiding some truth from the world. Of course the whole world does not need to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, but how far can you really go?

The perfect camera, the perfect angle, the perfect pose, the perfect colors, the perfect flash settings, the perfect background, all decide to have sex together, have a baby, and that baby is the offspring of an ugly person with the gracious givings of lady manipulation. But, when that child goes to school, and his schoolmates want to meet his parents, what happens? Is he really going to where the "if you think I'm cute you should see my mom" t-shirt?

Even though we're under the pressure of a pressurized airbrush machine that makes everything perfect, how far can we go? Can we reach the point where we see everything through a lens that airbrushes everything and be blinded to reality?

Then we go to the old as time debate: is not telling the whole truth the same as lying? I believe its not so I'll be on the pro team. I believe every person wants to point out their assets. Girl with big boobs will flaunt it, guy with great abs flex it, woman with pretty lips will pout it, etc. they all want to highlight their sell points and hide their flaws. Its human nature, we all know that no one is perfect, but we want the image to be.

Picture this scenario: you walk into a store to buy a coffee machine. Coffee machine happens to be in a box and not on display, but a picture is on the box, and the box highlights that it makes instant coffee in seconds, doesn't require any work, just fill and push the button. You buy, you go home, you try to work it but, its too complicated!! Would you feel cheated? or would you use the rational side of your brain and say: my fault didn't read the whole description and take it out of the box at the store.

Everyone should feel good about themselves even though if that version of themselves is a combination of perfected computer skills. However, EVERYONE should also know that it comes with a warning sign that reads: I'm not telling the whole truth, you should read into me. Who knows, maybe you'd read into it so well you'd make a science or an art out of it: Seeing the other side of the story.

First Come, First Serve

Ever felt that the world has nothing new? Let me rephrase that... Ever wanted to invent something new and have found it to be already in existence?

If you are a born genius, STOP READING. If your are normal like me, proceed to check out.

People are always in search of new ways to come up with something innovative and make money out of it. But in 2010, it is merely impossible to do so unless you are Bill Gates or similar. Every other good idea has already been done and taken. There are a million bakeries, a million restaurants, a million coat hangers, and a gazillion paper clips. What is left is an even harder task to take that clay dough and make something new out of it, which you'll find out in the end, already exists on the other side of the globe.

It should no longer be called a "dog eat dog world". It is now simply "fist come, first serve world". So hurry in and get your piece of this lovely world we call our home.

Underneath it All

We dress up, dress down, casual smart, casual, soirée, beach chic, comfortable chic... etc, but have we ever stopped to wonder what is underneath it all? Behind every dress up and dress down what lies beneath that layer of cloth that separates your skin and the outside world?

I, personally, dress to emotion. I feel good i'll dress good, I feel sloppy i'll dress sloppy, and sometimes i get the occasional 'I need to feel good about myself' so i'll dress up accordingly. So what if clothes became an analysis point that psychology neglected and the read the body language books failed to mention.

If there were such a book, i'd write it. Careful analysis to a person's wardrobe gives great insight into a person's life. Take for instance, matchy matchy people: they are usually people who pick items according to color and theme, and never fail to notice even the tiniest detail like the color of the stitches in their underwear. The outcome of their outfits is usually a big tree or I heart RED, but this attention to detail is indeed a great indication to what they are like. These people not only have great attention to detail, but also have insecurities and most probably OCD to some level. They are perfectionists and idealists who are usually pretty harsh on themselves and sometimes low in self esteem.

Regardless of what is already known about people dressing their emotions, on some level, the hidden messages need to be read, especially those of the normal people. Emo and Goth dress dark and sad, rockstars dress flashy and glamourous, the rich and famous dress like the rich and famous but they all have one thing in common: they do not do it so subtly. The rest of us "normal" people, deserve some attention even if we don't end up on the cover of Vogue.

Maybe this could be the next break through in human analysis and being able to read a person without personal contact. Or maybe its just pure coincidence when the drier shrunk all my clothes and left me with this ensemble. Never the less it should be looked into and noticed.

Dear Vogue: Writing a book on outfit analysis will fly off the shelves BIG TIME.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU WEAR!

Blindfolded

Imagine going through life with a blindfold on? Would we survive or we wind up in man made manholes in the streets, falling off buildings, walking into a mine field? But then again, these hazardous ways of dyeing are all man made. If we were all blind or blindfolded, would we be able to make these buildings? streets? cars? or know the time?

Sight is a given gift from God that is like two sides of a sword. There's a theory that for every existing bad thing is a counter cure or opposite that either exists or needs to be discovered. They're still working on cancer aren't they? So what if sight is a weapon to fight off harm. If you see a nail on the floor, you won't step on it.

But what if what is most harmful to us humans is things that cannot be seen with the naked eye. I'm not talking about tiny viruses stuck on a toilet seat, I'm talking about this that we never see coming. It usually come from other humans that we see all the time but they hit you like that bus you've never seen coming.

There are two sides of the moon. One we see and we can't. There are also two sides of people just like the moon. Literally and metaphorically speaking. One's eye can only see one side of everything, no matter how dimensional it is. There is always that other side of the bottle u cannot see, and physically speaking, you can never see the other side at the same time. What if this became a rule of thumb: There are to sides of a person, what you see and what you can't is not determined by your ability to see, but to their ability to show. As a second rule to that rule of thumb; see not only what you see, but also see the exact opposite.

Read My Mind

If you were allowed to have one superpower, what would it be?

Surprisingly, many would prefer the power to read minds. COME ON! I'd fly, Turn grass into gold, ...etc. But reading minds? what good does it do? Alright it may help in certain situations in which you'd like to know what the hell is the other person thinking, but, at what cost.

Given the power to read minds, you'd hear things you don't want to hear. Imagine this scenario:

Girl: Does this dress make me look fat?
Boy: NO babe it looks good on you!
but hears (OMG that looks so bad you've gained so much weight)
Girl: you LIED
Boy: I had to
Girl: Get out you F%^%$#%.... :(
Girl would be devastated...

If the argument of truth versus white lies was put aside, what is left for thought and imagination? do you really want to be Mr. or Mrs. KnowItAll?? If you do, think about the little things that keeps you guessing, the special moments of spontinuty, the surprise parties and gifts, think about the things you don't want to know and you're better off not knowing. Is it really worth it.

So try to FLY, you don't need the truth...!

Do You Really Want to Live Forever

Immortality has been an on going quest that mankind has been trying to pursue since it realized that morality is inevitable. Apart from all the (personally supported) plastic surgery that makes a person look younger, do we really want to go on living 'till the end of time?

Think about it! How many heartbreaks and tears can a person go through? It seems to me that a person endures enough pain throughout one lifetime and the repetition of that just seems idiotic.

If life would have a plot-line, it will go as follows: (* indicates estimated level of endured pain)

Born
Child
Teenager **
Young Adult ***
Adult *****
Older Adult ******
Even Older Adult *******
DeaD -----

I am sure that plot-line is not meant to be put on repeat for sound reasons. A person can only live once and that is more than enough. Even though some experience life in more ways than other, it is still life, and life comes with lots and lots of add-on problems, as well as good times. What defines living a life if a person is living it.

Take Edward Scissorhands for example. A story of a man-made man that feels and lives, yet cannot die for he is a machine. He lived on forever ALONE is sorrow for he cannot go through life as a normal person. If the ending changed and he stayed with the one he loved, she'll get old and die. And then what? He lives on alone forever remembering his love? Or does he find another and go through that cycle again? Makes you wonder.

Even though at a certain age, everyone starts thinking that they need more time, or a time machine to do things differently, but does living on forever make things any better? Does becoming a Vampire or a machine make us any better? As long as we feel, it is only necessary to live that one life and stop at the end.

So live life the way you ought to, the way you want to, stop looking for that everlasting feeling because nothing good lasts forever, and every good thing comes to an END.

3.10.2010

Opposites Attract

As a girl, it is almost always natural to be troubled with thoughts about the opposite sex, BUT, how often do you think the opposite sex thinks about us. I've been given a lot of free time lately to think about the most random things and I have noticed that with the increase in free time, complex thoughts increase. Some believe in the productivity of thinking but i DO NOT.

Boys will be boys and girls will be girls, sometimes it gets to be boys will be girls and vice versa but, for the main point, both are different. However, the word OPPOSITE, in my opinion, is a total illusion, what made them the black and us the withe, the south and us the north. Who decided the Do's and Don'ts of this all, and who really follows that guidebook.

If persons came with a manual, then each should list possible side-effects and benefits of that person. I should walk around with a tag saying: possible mood swings, confusion, chaotic, short term memory loss...etc. IF ONLY the world was made this easy. But then again, if it was, would this make it any less tasteful? Would we really appreciate what we have if that is the case? Also, do people really know what they want and look for in partners?

"Opposites Attract" has always been a rule of thumb, but it is and always should be for magnets only. Not everyone can handle two extremes, grey is sometimes better than black and white!

2.27.2010

Fidget Fidget Fidget...

As a personal abuser of the fidgeting abilities of a human being, I do believe that that the action has been wrongfully analyzed and misjudged. It is not a sign of insecurities it is a sing on uncertainty, or just making sure the dress is still there.

In a world that has driven women to dress in skimpy little dresses, with unbelievably gorgeous, yet painful heels, tight jeans, and teeny bikinis, it is very important to overlook the fiddling action and get over it, at least we’re there looking this good.

It is almost impossible for all human beings to be confident about a certain outfit, or how it looks, or of a certain position, and how comforting it is. The matter of the fact is that that action makes ME, and I’m sure other inhabitants of this planet, comfortable.

So FIDGET FIDGET FIDGET !!!

2.08.2010

Nostalgic

By definition, nostalgia is “a mixed feeling of happiness, sadness, and longing when recalling a person, place, or event from the past, or the past in general”. But if you think about the word, it’s amazing how it can have two opposite meanings combined.

Happiness: “feeling or showing pleasure, contentment, or joy”
+
Sadness: “feeling or showing unhappiness, grief, or sorrow”

Even though, language has been around for thousands of years, it’s amazing how it still lacks expressive terms of how a complex human being feels or acts. Nostalgic is a step-up for mankind never the less.

The existing of the two opposite feelings together highlights how complex a person can be, and life’s circumstances can make him feel. If a person was asked: How are you? He or she replies: good or bad (even though good is a grammatically wrong answer.

Under Construction

The” I’m working on it” phase. This is when everything in one’s life has come to a complete stop and nothing seems to be moving forwards. It happens to the best of people. The only difference is that some will hire a contractor to fix, some will do it themselves, and some won’t do anything at all.

If you chose to get help, this means you are either dependant, co-dependent, or just insecure and unable to do things yourself. However, credit is in place for you have done something about it!! All roads lead to Rome in the end.

However, had you chosen to fix yourself up, give yourself a round of applause for you have accomplished what almost 90 percent of the world couldn’t. Whether it was just losing weight or finding a better job or hitting the jack pot on a poker table, YOU DID IT and no one can take that away from you.

If, God forbid, you are one of the ‘life is un fair’ kind of person, please join a cult that eventually commits group suicide. The EARTH moves each and every nano-second, bee’s fly despite its tiny wings, and even snails move. There is no excuse for doing nothing about the rut that you are in.

Are We There Yet?

Nothing is ever good enough and you will never get there. This theory is usually adopted by pessimistic people of the planet that look for the speed bumps and go on it. Thing is, for whatever road they choose, they never get to their destination. Most of us don’t anyways. But it’s as annoying as kids can be when talking about it, complaining, and nagging about it. You want to get there? Get in the fucking car and drive off. Don’t try crossing oceans on foot.

Black & White

How did scientists find out that dogs are colorblind? Did they turn into a dog one day and saw what they see? Or maybe during the ‘year of the dog’ they spoke out and told them so.

In life, some people are colorblind, literally and figuratively. If they one is literally colorblind, he or she is blessed with a gift to see the world in a way almost no one else is. Sure, he or she will have the off day where their outfits are mismatched and they’re wearing blue lipstick.

However, if a person is allegorically colorblind, I pity the soul of having to see the world in that way. By thus I mean people who see the world as black or white, and the grey areas don’t exist. You’re either with us or against us, straight or gay, believer or non-believer, good or bad, innocent or evil, a devil or an angel, successful or a loser…etc. failing to see the world as it is; a mixture of in-betweeners.

So accordingly, the world is divided into colorblind and in-betweeners. The good news is that its 2009, the in-betweeners are spreading vastly around the planet. POWER TO THE PEOPLE! The bad news is, colorbliners are in control. They are the parents, the boss’s, the presidents, the policemen, the teachers, the CEO’s…etc.

L.O.S.T

It has recently become a trend for one to describe his or her personal state of mind and emotion as lost. Funny part is that the solution to that person’s problems is definitely not finding them.

“Lost without you, can’t help myself...”

“I was lost, but now I’m found!”

And then what? You don’t help a lost cat by finding it, then why is it that you can help a human in that way. Have our emotional needs become so easily fulfilled that even the smallest gesture of kindness satisfies it, or in this case, the physical discovery of one’s existence?

“Eureka, I’ve found it”

Never mind the language lesson, people like to be found, and if I may add, found in the perfect form. Every girl dreams of ‘finding’ her perfect man, or in some cases, woman. And when she finds him or her, she has to be perfect! I have personally been through so many of the “NO HE CAN’T SEE ME I LOOK HORRIBLE” experiences, and for what? For finding out that ‘finding’ a person comes in the most coincidence when you are not ready.

Ever lost an earring that was right in front of you? Or never found that sock in the washer? Its either there in front of you or not, finding it is only a matter of perception and how what you see translate in your mind and heart.

It is commonly known that if you are lost, you should stay in one place until you’re found. So if you are lost, and looking, chances are you are just running around in a never ending maze.

Moral of the story: STOP LOOKING!

2.06.2010

NAMES

“I am an Alice” (from Alice In Wonderland by Disney).

Names are words or terms that describe a person or a ‘thing’. It’s what distinguishes that person & ‘thing’ from the rest of the world.

But why do humans have the need to label everything as they do. Why do we only function with tags and fear the unknown? Eventually we will run out of names!

“The Second Edition of the Oxford English Dictionary contains full entries for 171,476 words in current use, and 47,156 obsolete words. To this may be added around 9,500 derivative words included as subentries. Over half of these words are nouns, about a quarter adjectives, and about a seventh verbs; the rest is made up of interjections, conjunctions, prepositions, suffixes, etc. These figures take no account of entries with senses for different parts of speech (such as noun and adjective).” There is also an estimated number of around 6 thousand languagegs.

As of 8 February 2010, the Earth's population is estimated by the United States Census Bureau to be 6,801,400,000. If you look at this from a perfectly mathematical point of view, approximately every 9% of the population speaks one language and the population as a whole speaks has over billions of words to speak and names to call. With such a high language range, how well do we really communicate?

If you try to examine the effect of a word or label on the actions of a human being, could you see if the action caused the word or did the word cause the action? Take two examples:
1. Eric is an Ex-Convict; he acts like one.
2. Sara got a new Louis Vuitton purse that her roommate loved, and eventually stole.

After an evolution of what is apparently almost 2 million years of existence, language has come a long way and its still going futher with minor introductions like Jubrish. It may have even gone further than apprehended. With many new names and verbs being introduced, a person may lose snese of the what he or she knows.

NOTE: THE DEFINITION OF DORK
1. Slang A stupid, inept, or foolish person:
2. Vulgar Slang The penis.
3. Penis of a whale.

Gravity

In old ancient days, gravity was undefined, and every theory was challenged by the next not-so-smart one. But what do you do when the apple has already fallen and you simply cannot defy the final verdict. What if, gravity is actually the opposite of gravity, it’s not pulling the apple towards the ground, the sky is pushing it away and everything placed on this planet is in its perfect equilibrium.

After centuries of scientific evolution, gravity today is defined as follows: A natural phenomenon by which objects with mass attract one another.

Put aside the, of inverse-square law, the equivalence principle, the quantum gravity and relativity, relatively speaking, gravity is a definition of the relationship of a rock to the moon. However, that definition is somewhat solid, even though one cannot be in the place of a rock to know what it is, and one cannot be the earth, the sun, the starts, and the moon to explain what they feel.

It has already taken centuries and perhaps millenniums to figure out that the earth is attracted to the sun and goes around in semi-circles (thank you AGORA). We, humans, regardless of our uncertainties about the universe surrounding us, somehow are very certain about feelings and relationships towards the rest of mankind. One is sweet, one is racist, one is huge, and one is shameless… etc. but these definitions and variable and like any other theory, is either proven right or proven wrong.

But why is it that we need to define everything going on? Why does a person need to know that this moment is happy, next one is sad, his heart is broken, and that girl is bad? It’s all a matter of trying to understand what needs not to be understood.

ARE WE RELATIVE

If gravity theories are applied to us humans, since we are walking masses and are part of this universe, then perhaps everything we experience is just a scientific theory and it is just a matter of time until it is proven correctly. We are relative to one another, we are defined, and we even have ‘chemistry’.

The Invention of Lying

After watching a move with that title, you can’t help but wonder, what if it really was an honest world where everyone knows only but to speak their minds and nothing else? Can we really handle it?

Set aside what the movie was telling about who found lying, in history, and in all religions, lying existed before mankind ever did.

In the Bible: In the New Testament, Jesus refers to the Devil as the father of lies.

In the Qur’an: first lie was told by the ‘Shaitan’ to Adam and Eve persuading them to eat the forbidden fruit.

In Pagan Methodology: In Gestaþáttr, Odin states that it is advisable, when dealing with "a false foe who lies," to tell lies oneself.

A lie is a lie, whether to oneself or to another self. It is the way it affects the person that matters. Some lies are called ‘white’ because they come from a good place. But, with the risk of sounding racist, what’s a bad lie? A black one? What defines a good lie or a bad lie, if in the end all are lies and manipulations of the truth? It is always lies that are associated with negative thought. Meanwhile the truth is more powerful and more hurtful than any lie ever told. However, because it is the TRUTH people have a good association with it even though an honest person can be the ‘bitch’ and the liar is the ‘friend’.

If puzzled with the decision of whether to be an honest person that tells the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, remember that the truth is also undefined in terms of good or bad. !! As much as we all wish we could, we fail to accept reality even from our own perspectives. We lie to others and to our selves via excuses excuses excuses.

“Do I look fat in this dress?”

As a personal believer in living in a parallel universe where everything is or should be pretty, I cannot handle the truth when said. A hint of sarcasm or truth about myself is like slapping my with an elephant’s foot. When I ask how do I look I do expect good answers, not because I think highly of myself, but because I need to hear those little white re-assuring lies. Regardless of me ever finding out the truth about it, I long for it.

Us as humans long for acceptance and comfort, which is why reality doesn’t work. But when reality isn’t working, is falsity really any better?

When labeling someone as a “liar” or staying at home with a box of tissue and a bucket of ice-cream because your boyfriend “lied”, keep this in mind:

YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH

Baby Popping Machines

If this were a parallel universe, things would be different. Nothing that “makes sense” in the ‘we know all about it’ relationships between the sexes. If mankind was just doing it’s survival purposes and mate, in a whole new different way.

There would be three different types of people, including two different types of women. This did not include gay or straight. It simply meant: donor or surrogate. You’d think it would be a perfect world, one where women did not have to deal with insecurities about their looks or making their personalities better. It was all about having a fertile egg or not. This world can be around anything, without sex, just popping babies.

The mother company: this is the company that controls the world! It arranges who does what. If you want to use your imagination a little wilder, its all a bunch of nerdy scientists and controlling communists who organized the planet. Their only purpose is to keep mankind alive, unless aliens decided to attack.

The surrogate home: the place that keeps mankind alive. This is where women who decide to be surrogate mothers live, and are paid for it.

Donor women: who’s sole purpose is to keep their perfectly healthy eggs as best as can be, donate it, and move on.

Men: this is where they can have their “perfect world”. Their only two choices would be: to have sexual intercourse with the surrogate mothers in order to fertilize that egg, or just to jack off into a cup that he will never have to see again.

If you still can’t see where this is going, I’ll make it clearer. The company, keeps it all under control. They accommodate housing and everything that life requires from a woman that is willing to take a baby to full term and have it. They then see the sex of the baby, if it’s egg material or surrogate material, and divide it accordingly. This baby, being female of course, grows up into the life she is destined to have. If that baby had been born male, that baby would grow into the world doing what he does best in the other universe, make money, which will eventually end up in the mother company to fund future baby producing procedures that keeps the world alive.

Think about this! Women wouldn’t have to worry about what they look like or how fat they get. Heck, they can be fat pig like creatures roaming the world. Scratch that. They can be fat pig like creatures that don’t have to move an inch.

Surrogate mothers are the labor workers, literarily. Of course, since they have the most important job on the planet, they are the key to life, and the most expensive key as well. Finally: they get appreciated and paid for what they have been doing for decades, centuries, even millenniums. Ah, in a perfect world.

This leaves you thinking: does this world make sense. Even if it does, does it really?! Does life have meaning without its little butterflies in my stomach oh he’s so cutes? Would life be better without family, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers, boyfriends, girlfriends, and all the works? No Disneyland? No Cinderella stories? No breakfast at tiffany’s?

Of course life wouldn’t be meaningful in this world, but it would be the solution to every problem every man and women on this planet has ever complained about since the begging of mankind. But is it worth it?

Boys & Girls ?

“Girls don’t like boys girls like cars and money”!

Ever since mankind existed, or ever since it became civilized, the battle of the sexes has always been going through every person’s mind. Boys have always troubled girl’s heart and mind and girls have always troubled boy’s mind and heart (amongst other things). But who do you think has it bad?

Girls have always played the victims in every case, and boys were once victimized or pretended to be so, but how do you know who really has it right? They say that for every player, there’s a girl that broke his heart and turned him pro-footballer of human hearts. And behind every girl, there is a first crush, first love, first heartbreak, second, third … until the lesson is learned. So who started this cycle? Adam or Eve? Does a girl really love better than a boy does or is it the other way around? But the unavoidable question is: who knows what they really feel?

Every now and then, comes along a book that tries to unveil the true nature behind the women from Mars and men for Venus, or is it the other way around. “But a person is a person, no matter how small” should be kept in mind. I can barely comprehend the complexity and makings of one human being let alone a whole Gender! But then again, if we eliminate the general rules of thumb, how will we know what we know? Or is it because of the rule of thumb that the thumb moves in that direction?

If you look about it closely, we both have: a. brains, b. heart, c. emotions. The trick is what takes over the most. It has been commonly said that men use their heads to feel and vice versa, but that could be society’s training and manifestation of a commonly known dilemma that has troubled the sexes ever since Adam and Eve were created. Because we are told that we function this way, we function this way!

The human body, if trained correctly, can do almost anything it is commanded to do, unless it’s humanly and physically impossible. And since emotions and heart, are all part of a human’s (boy & girl) anatomy, therefore, if trained properly it can feel and think the way it wants to. The opposite also applies, trained and trained incorrectly results in complicated messes that are the humans we have today.

L Words

Note: some of the most important words in life, interestingly enough starts with the letter L.

Live: to have life or stay alive

Life: the entire period during which somebody is, has been, or will yet be alive

Love: have sex with somebody, passionate attraction and desire, very strong affection, romantic affair, somebody much loved, strong liking, something eliciting enthusiasm, beloved, term of friendly address, God’s love for humanity, or worship of God, Score of zero!

Live and life, two words same concept. We live on this earth for an average of years depending on which part of the world you belong to. Had you been lucky, you live for 60 years give and take. However when living the life, what is the life you are living? Is it the life of the rich or famous, poor and needy, content and happy, holly and good, evil and bad… etc. what defines how good you’re living it and if you are really “living” it? Some might think happiness is what measures “living”, but how do you measure happiness?

On the same note, Love goes undefined in the dictionary still because it cannot be defined or put into words. It can only be felt some may say. This makes you wonder: how do you know what it is? In theory, it is a good feeling, but in reality, it might not be.

Feelings have always been tricky to define or describe in words. Even though efforts have been made constantly in order to have a solid definition of what is felt not defined, it is still almost impossible for language to be felt.

Live Life & Love !

Shoes, Shoes, AH SHOES

For a VERY long time, all I have been attracted to in shopping is shoes. Ah shoes shoes shoes!!

Even though, feet are almost the last thing you look at when you see a person (NOT ME), it seems to be very important now-a-days. With all the Christian Louboutin’s and Manolo Blanik’s around, you’d be crazy not to notice feet!

As if the world wasn’t material enough as it was to begin with, now, literarily, you are judged from head to toe. And I LOVE IT.

The way I see it, shoes will never betray you! You lose weight, they fit, you gain weight, and they fit! They do break hearts, or feet for that matter, but, nevertheless, they are the common link between you and the ground. And for that, it should be given the respect of such a highly position.

Maybe they are the only piece of clothing that does make sense.

A New Year

A new year with a new beginning and a new set of values! At least that’s what everyone seems to think.

A new year's resolution? Maybe not! What we seem to fail to realize is that at the end of every year, we weigh out everything that’s bad in our life, and try to "quit" it, as if that is the only thing going wrong.

This year I'm going to:
Lose 10 Kgs.
Quit Smoking.
Quit Drinking.
Quit Eating.
Be more adventurous.
and oh don’t forget: Find the "special" one.

Just how many times do we have to do that year after year, and how many people actually accomplish one thing.

Next year I'm going to:
Lose 10 Kgs.
Quit Smoking.
Quit Drinking.
Quit Eating.
Be more adventurous.
and oh don’t forget: Find the "special" one.

and the year after that:
Lose 10 Kgs.
Quit Smoking.
Quit Drinking.
Quit Eating.
Be more adventurous.
and oh don’t forget: Find the "special" one.

...

If age, is only a number, then why does the world revolve around one "birth date" in a year. Is it because it is the only "birth date" everyone on the planet has in common: the day the earth was born? REALLY? What happened B.C.? Did they count down backwards? Or in this case, forwards?

I just believe that the set of goals set and accomplished on a daily basis are much more achievable than on a one year basis. Because, what happens is, that we try to have a LARGE number of values and goals to accomplish at the beginning of the year, then slowly shake most of them off due to excessive smoking/drinking/eating and no special people, and end up with a small number to carry over to the next year and therefore, diminishing important values and notes that get buried deep down under because of failure.

Here's to the EVERY DAY IS NEWYEARS!

Senseless Sense

Everyone tries to make his or her own understanding and way of life. The trick is, how well does that person really understand it?!

I personally do not get a lot of things in life. And I do believe that a lot of what we make sense of doesn't make sense at all. There are some defining moments that prove to a person that what he or she knows is way off the right way, but what if the rest of the moments turned dramatically important and senseless in a way.

I, for example, think I know myself and what I am capable and incapable of doing and accomplishing in life, however, there comes that one moment where the world has turned upside down and you don't know what you know anymore. When that happens, is it the old version of the world that made sense, or the new one? Or is it just a temporary fix till the world bounces upside down again.

In the movie the Matrix and Surrogates, the world was split into two: Reality and Make believe. And in both movies, everyone knew what real land what wasn’t was. But in the real world, what is real and what is not fails to prevail to a normal human being, let alone a complicated one.

For some time now, I have tried making sense of a lot of things in my life, and nothing makes sense any more. However, nothing has really changed, so it could be that it never did and never will make any sense. The only thing that is changing is my thoughts and my thoughts seem to have lost the "old" ways of thinking it used to have in the age of innocence.

The ultimate question is: do we really need to make sense of everything in order to make sense of everything? Or can we just understand the inability of life to be static and understandable. because even if you know it all, you really think you know it all and all that will come back one day and bite you in the ass.
